KL shares bearish at midmorning

KUALA LUMPUR: Share prices on Bursa Malaysia remained easier at mid-morning today, dampened by weak buying interest, dealers said.
At 11.04 am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) shed 3.73 points to 1,830.12, after fluctuating between 1,824.93 and 1,830.65.
On the scoreboard, the Finance Index declined 22.82 points to 16,509.98, the Plantation Index fell 51.9 points to 8,858.76 and the Industrial Index went down 12.03 points to 3,177.34.
The FBM Emas Index decreased 15.54 points to 12,666.41, the FBMT100 Index trimmed 17.52 points to 12,324.4, the FBM Ace lost 43.12 points to 6,705.46 but the FBM 70 gained 10.03 points to 13,821.59.
Losers led gainers 221 to 310, while 293 counters were unchanged, 1,619 untraded and 19 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 876.59 million shares worth RM613.19 million.
Among actives, Insas added one sen to RM1.19 while both R&A Telecommunication and Ingenuity were flat at five sen and 11.5 se respectively.
As for the heavyweights, Maybank, TNB and Axiata were all flat at RM9.64, RM11.92 and RM6.58, respectively.
However, CIMB shed one sen to RM7.10 and Sime Darby eased three sen to RM9.20. -
